Waktu-waktu dan Tempat-tempat Doa Mustajab

Antara waktu-waktu dan tempat-tempat doa mustajab ialah:

(1) Sepertiga Akhir Malam

Dari Abu Hurairah Radhiyallahu 'anhu bahawasanya Rasulullah Shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda:

"Ertinya : Sesungguhnya Rabb kami yang Maha Berkah lagi Maha Tinggi turun setiap malam ke langit dunia hingga berbaki sepertiga akhir malam, lalu berfirman ; barangsiapa yang berdoa, maka Aku akan kabulkan, barangsiapa yang memohon, pasti Aku akan perkenankan dan barangsiapa yang meminta ampun, pasti Aku akan mengampuninya" . (Shahih Al-Bukhari, kitab Da'awaat bab Doa Nisfullail 7/149-150)

(2) Tatkala Berbuka Puasa Bagi Orang Yang Berpuasa

Dari Abdullah bin 'Amr bin 'Ash Radhiyallahu 'anhu bahawa dia mendengar Rasulullah Shallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam bersabda.

"Ertinya : Sesungguhnya bagi orang yang berpuasa ketika saat berbuka ada doa yang tidak ditolak". (Sunan Ibnu Majah, bab Fis Siyam La Turaddu Da'watuhu 1/321 No. 1775. Hakim dalam kitab Mustadrak 1/422. Dishahihkan sanadnya oleh Bushairi dalam Misbahuz Zujaj 2/17)

(3) Setiap Selepas Shalat Fardhu

Dari Abu Umamah, sesungguhnya Rasulullah Shallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam ditanya tentang doa yang paling didengari oleh Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala, baginda Shallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam menjawab.

"Ertinya : Di pertengahan malam yang akhir dan setiap selesai shalat fardhu".

(Sunan At-Tirmidzi, bab Jamiud Da'awaat 13/30. Dishahihkan oleh Al-Albani di dalam Shahih Sunan At-Tirmidzi 3/167-168 No. 2782)

(4). Ketika Saat Azan dan Ketika Perang Berkecamuk

Dari Sahl bin Sa'ad Radhiyallahu 'anhu bahawa Rasulullah Shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda:

"Ertinya : Ada dua doa yang tidak tertolak atau jarang tertolak ; doa ketika saat adzan dan doa ketika perang berkecamuk". (Sunan Abu Daud, kitab Jihad 3/21 No. 2540. Sunan Baihaqi, bab Shalat Istisqa' 3/360. Hakim dalam Mustadrak 1/189. Dishahihkan Imam Nawawi dalam Al-Adzkaar hal. 341. Dan Al-Albani dalam Ta'liq Alal Misykat 1/212 No. 672).

(5) Satu waktu ketika Hari Jumaat

Dari Abu Hurairah Radhiyallahu 'anhu bahawa Abul Qasim Shallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam bersabda:

"Ertinya : Sesungguhnya pada hari Jum'at ada satu waktu yang tidaklah bertepatan seorang hamba muslim shalat dan memohon sesuatu kebaikan kepada Allah melainkan akan diberikan padanya, beliau berisyarat dengan tangannya akan sedikitnya waktu tersebut". (Shahih Al-Bukhari, kitab Da'awaat 7/166. Shahih Muslim, kitab Jumuah 3/5-6).

Satu waktu itu tidak boleh diketahui secara tepat dan masing-masing riwayat menyebutkan waktu tersebut secara berbeza-beza, sebagaimana yang telah disebutkan oleh Ibnu Hajar di dalam Fathul Bari 11/203.

Dan kemungkinan besar waktu tersebut berada ketika masa imam atau khatib naik ke mimbar sehingga selesai shalat Jum'at atau sehingga selesai waktu shalat ashar bagi orang yang menunggu shalat maghrib.

(6) Ketika Waktu Bangun Tidur Pada Malam Hari Bagi Orang Yang Sebelum Tidur Dalam Keadaan Suci dan Berdzikir Kepada Allah

Dari 'Amr bin 'Anbasah Radhiyallahu 'anhu bahawa Rasulullah Shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda:

"Ertinya :Tidaklah seorang hamba tidur dalam keadaan suci lalu terbangun pada malam hari kemudian memohon sesuatu tentang urusan dunia atau akhirat melainkan Allah akan mengabulkannya" . (Sunan Ibnu Majah, bab Doa 2/352 No. 3924. Dishahihkan oleh Al-Mundziri 1/371 No. 595)

(7) Doa Di antara Adzan dan Iqamah

Dari Anas bin Malik Radhiyallahu 'anhu bahawa Rasulullah Shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda:

"Ertinya : Doa tidak akan ditolak di antara adzan dan iqamah". (Sunan Abu Daud, kitab Shalat 1/144 No. 521. Sunan At-Tirmidzi, bab Jamiud Da'waat 13/87. Sunan Al-Baihaqi, kitab Shalat 1/410. Dishahihkan oleh Al-Albani, kitab Tamamul Minnah hal. 139)

(8) Doa Ketika Waktu Sujud di Dalam Shalat
"Sesungguhnya saat yg paling dekat antara seorang hamba dgn Tuhannya adalah ketika ia sedang bersujud." (HR Muslim)

Dari Ibnu Abbas Radhiyallahu 'anhu bahawa Rasulullah Shallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam bersabda: "Adapun pada waktu sujud, maka bersungguh-sungguhlah berdoa kerana saat itu sangat tepat untuk dikabulkan". (Shahih Muslim, kitab Shalat bab Nahi An Qiratul Qur'an fi Ruku' wa Sujud 2/48)

Yang dimaksudkan adalah sangat tepat dan layak untuk dikabulkan doa kamu.

(9) Ketika Saat Sedang Hujan

Dari Sahl bin a'ad Radhiyallahu 'anhu bahawasanya Rasulullah Shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda:

"Ertinya : Dua doa yang tidak pernah ditolak ; doa ketika waktu adzan dan doa ketika waktu hujan". (Mustadrak Hakim dan dishahihkan oleh Adz-Dzahabi 2/113-114. Dishahihkan oleh Al-Albani dalam Shahihul Jami' No. 3078).

Imam An-Nawawi berkata bahawa penyebab doa pada waktu hujan tidak ditolak atau jarang ditolak ialah kerana pada saat itu sedang turun rahmat khususnya curahan hujan pertama di awal musim. (Fathul Qadir 3/340)

(10) Ketika Saat Ajal Tiba

Dari Ummu Salamah bahawa Rasulullah 'alaihi wasallam mendatangi rumah Abu Salamah (pada hari wafatnya), dan beliau mendapati kedua mata Abu Salamah terbuka lalu beliau 'alaihi wasallam memejamkannya kemudian bersabda:

"Ertinya : Sesungguhnya tatkala ruh dicabut, maka pandangan mata akan

mengikutinya' . Semua keluarga histeria. Baginda 'alaihi wasallam bersabda : 'Janganlah kalian berdoa untuk diri kalian kecuali kebaikan, kerana para malaikat mengamini apa yang kamu ucapkan". (Shahih Muslim, kitab Janaiz 3/38)

(11) Ketika Lailatul Qadar

Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala berfirman:

"Ertinya : Malam kemuliaan itu lebih baik daripada seribu bulan. Pada malam itu turun malaikat-malaikat dan malaikat Jibril dengan izin Tuhannya untuk mengatur segala urusan. Malam itu penuh kesejahteraan sehingga terbit fajar". (Al-Qadr : 3-5)

Imam As-Syaukani berkata bahawa kemuliaan Lailatul Qadar mengharuskan doa setiap orang pasti dikabulkan. (Tuhfatud Dzakirin hal. 56)

(12) Doa Ketika Hari Arafah

Dari 'Amr bin Syu'aib Radhiyallahu 'anhu dari bapaknya dari datuknya bahawasanya Nabi Shallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam bersabda.

"Ertinya : Sebaik-baik doa adalah pada hari Arafah". (Sunan At-Tirmidzi, bab Jamiud Da'waat 13/83. Dihasankan oleh Al-Albani dalam Ta'liq alal Misykat 2/797 No. 2598)

Collection of Short Hadith

Introduction:


The two most highly respected collections of hadith are the authenticated collections the Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim. (Sahih literally means "correct, true, valid, or sound.") In addition to these, four other collections came to be well-respected, although not to the degree of Bukhari and Muslim's sahih collections. These four other collections are the Sunan of Tirmidhi, Nasa'i, Ibn Majah, and Abu Da'ud. Together these four and the two sahih collections are called the "six books" (al-kutub al-sitta). Two other important collections, in particular, are the Muwatta of Ibn Malik, the founder of the Maliki school of law, and the Musnad of Ahmad ibn Hanbal, the founder of the Hanbali school of law.


AKHLAK (Character)

"The best among you are those who have the best manners and character."

("Inna min akh-yarikum ahsanukum khuluqa")

A'isha (RA), Prophet Muhammad's (SAW) wife, stated that, ‘The Prophet never used foul language and never entertained people with obscene jokes. He was well behaved when he entered the market places. His habit was not to repel evil with mutual evil. He was forgiving and could grant pardon." (Tirmizi) 


Righteousness is good character, and sin is that which wavers in your heart and which you do not want people to know about. - [Sahih Muslim] 


Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Amr (Radi-Allahu 'anhu):The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, "Whoever has the following four (characteristics) will be a pure hypocrite and whoever has one of the following four characteristics will have one characteristic of hypocrisy unless and until he gives it up. 1. Whenever he is entrusted, he betrays. 2. Whenever he speaks, he tells a lie. 3. Whenever he makes a covenant, he proves treacherous. 4. Whenever he quarrels, he behaves in a very imprudent, evil and insulting manner." (Bukhari Vol. 1 : No. 33)

Messenger of Allah s.a.w said: There are three signs of a hypocrite: when he speaks he speaks lies, when he makes a promise he breaks it, and when he is trusted he betrays his trust. (Sahih Bukhari)

“Whoever believes in Allah and the Day of Judgment should speak what is good or keep silent.” (Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih al-Muslim)


Rasul Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Give due respect and regard to your children and decorate them with the best of manners.” [Abu Daud]


Abu Huraira, r.a., said that the Prophet of Allah, s.a.w, said, "If one has good manners, one may attain the same level of merit as those who spend their nights in prayer."
(Hadith - Bukhari's Book of Manners no. 285, Hakim, and Abu Dawud)


“Whoever has an atoms worth of kibr (pride) in his heart will not enter Paradise.” ~ Prophet Muhammad s.a.w [Sahih Muslim]

Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) said: “Be kind, for whenever kindness becomes part of something, it beautifies it. Whenever it is taken from something, it leaves it tarnished.“ (Imam Bukhari’s Book of Muslim Manners)

Prophet s.a.w said : "Beware of envy because envy consumes (destroys) the virtues just as the fire consumes the firewood." [Abu Dawud]

Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) said: “Verily, a man teaching his child manners is better than giving one bushel of grain in alms.” [Muslim]

ALLAH

The Prophet said: When Allah created his creatures He wrote above His throne: ‘Verily, my Compassion overcomes my wrath.  (Bukhari & Muslim)

Nabi ﷺ said: "Allah is more kind to his servants than a mother is to her child." (Hadith - Muslim)

BROTHERHOOD

"None of you will have faith till he wishes for his brother what he likes for himself."

("La yu'minu ahadukum hatta yuhibbu li akhihi ma yuhibbu li nafsihi.")

"None of you will have faith till he loves me more than his father, his children, and all mankind." ("La yu'minu ahadukum hatta akunu ahabba ilaihi min waalidihi wa waladihi wannasi ajmayin.") Reporter: Hadhrat Anas (r), Source: Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol. 1: 14

"Do not rejoice over the troubles of your brother, lest God might have mercy on him and involve you in this trouble." ("La tuzhirish shamatata li akhika; fa yarhamahullahu wa yabtaliyak.") Reporter: Hadhrat Wasila bin al-Asqa'i (r), Source: Sunan at-Tirmizi, Vol. 4, 3514

"Visit the sick, feed the hungry, and free the captive." ("Udul marida, wa at-imul ja-iya, wa fukkul aniya.") Reporter: Hadhrat Abu Musa (r), Source: Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol. 7, 552

Hadhrat Abdur Rahman Ibn Ghanam and Asma Bint Yazeed (Allah be pleased with them) narrate that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "The worst among the servants of Allah are those who gossip and create rifts between friends." (Tirmidhi).


"Whoever defends the honour of his brother in his absence will be entitled to Allah's Protection from the Fire." [Hadith:Tirmidhi]


“He who visits the sick continues to remain in the fruit garden of Paradise until he returns.” [Sahih Muslim] 


Hadith : "When a Muslim goes to visit a sick person, he in fact strolls in the garden of Paradise..." (Ibn Majah)

'A Muslim has five rights upon other muslims: Responding to his Salaam, answering his invitation (to food), saying allhumdulillah when he sneezes, visiting him when he is sick, and following his Janazah when he dies..' (Hadith: Bukhari & Muslim)


Ibn `Umar and `Aishah (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "Jibril kept recommending treating neighbours with kindness until I thought he would assign a share of inheritance". [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]


The Messenger of Allah (peace & blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Your smiling in the face of your (Muslim) brother is charity; enjoining the good & forbidding the evil is charity; your guiding a man that has lost his way is charity; and your removing of stones, thorns, & bones from people’s paths is charity for you.” [Tirmidhi Hadith 36]


Iyad bin Himar (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (Peace Be Upon Him) said, "Allah has revealed to me that you should humble yourselves to one another. One should neither hold himself above another nor transgress against another.'' [Muslim Book 40, Chapter 17, Hadith  6856]


Abu Musa reported Allah's Messenger (SAW) said: "A believer is like a brick for another believer, the one supporting the other." (Sahih Muslim)

"Do not be people without minds of your own, saying that if others treat you well you will treat them well and that if they do wrong you will do wrong. But (instead) accustom yourselves to do good if people do good and not to do wrong if they do evil.” — Prophet Muhammad (s) as reported in Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 1325.

CHARITY


The Messenger of Allah (peace & blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Your smiling in the face of your (Muslim) brother is charity; enjoining the good & forbidding the evil is charity; your guiding a man that has lost his way is charity; and your removing of stones, thorns, & bones from people’s paths is charity for you.” [Tirmidhi, Hadith 36]

DAAWA

"To spend one morning or evening in the cause of God is better than the world and whatever is in the world."

("Lagadwatun fi sabilillahi, au rauhatun, khairum minad dunya wa ma fiha.")

Reporter: Hadhrat Anas bin Malik, Source: Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol. 4, 50

DEATH

"Those who remember death the most, and are best prepared for what comes after it. Those are the intelligent ones." (Ibn majah)

DUA (Supplication)

"Indeed, Supplication is the worship." (Ad-dua, huwal ibadah.)

Young man! Be mindful of Allah and Allah will protect you. Be mindful of Allah and you will find Him in front of you. If you ask, ask of Allah Most High and if you seek help, seek of Allah, to whom belongs all might and majesty.  [Related by at-Tirmithi]

Hadith: "The du'a (supplication) made between the Adhan and the Iqamah is not rejected." (Abu Dawud)

“The supplication between Adhan and Iqamah is never turned down”. (At-Tirmidhi)


The Prophet s.a.w said: "A faithful believer while in prayer is speaking in private to his Lord..." (Sahih Bukhari, Vol 1, Book 8, No. 405)

Rasul Allah (s.a.w) said: "Make Dua and be assured of being answered, and know that Allah does not answer a Dua from a careless heart which is not concentrating." (Tirmidhi)

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said, "When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous decendant (sons or daughters) who prays for him (for the deceased).'' [Muslim]

“The prayers of anyone of you is granted if he does not show impatience, by saying I invoked Allah but my dua has not been granted” (Bukhari)

Allah will grant whoever recites the below prayer seven times in the morning or evening, whatever he desires from this world or the next. (Ibn As-Sunni (no. 71), Abu Dawud 4/321. Both reports are attributed directly to the Prophet Muhammad Salalaahualayhiwasalam. The chain of transmission is sound (Sahih). Ibn As-Sunni)

Hasbiyallaahu. 
Allah is sufficient for me.

laa 'ilaaha 'illaa Huwa.
There is none worthy of worship but Him.

alayhi tawakkaltu
I have placed my trust in Him; 

Rabbul-'Arshil-'Adheem.
He is Lord of the Majestic Throne.

FRIDAY

OBSERVANCE OF SILENCE WHILE THE SERMON ON FRIDAY IS DELIVERED
Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported: Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: If you (even) ask your companion to be quiet on Friday while the Imam is delivering the sermon, you have in fact talked irrelevance. (Hadith)

Prophet (SAW) said: " On every Friday the angels take their stand at every gate of masjids to write names of the people choronologically." (Bukhari) 


HALAL / HARAM

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said “That which is lawful is clear, and that which is unlawful is also quite clear. Between these two is that which is ambiguous, which most people do not know. One who avoids the doubtful safeguards his faith and his honour.” [Riyadh-us-Salaheen, Hadith 588]

HEALTH

"There are two blessings which many people lose: (They are) health and free time for doing good." [Bukhari]

HEART

Prophet Muhamamd (s.a.w) said: Truly in the body there is a morsel of flesh which, if it be whole, all the body is whole and which, if it be diseased, all of it is diseased. Truly it is the heart.” [Sahih Bukhari and Muslim]


Rasul Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wasallam) said: “Richness does not lie in the abundance of (worldly) goods, but richness is the richness of the soul (heart, self).” [Muslim] 

HEREAFTER

"O God! There is no comfort, but the comfort of the Hereafter."

("Allahumma la aisha illa aishul aakhirah.")

"You will definitely see your Rabb with your own eyes."

IHSAN


Rasulullah s.a.w said: "That you worship Allah as if you are seeing Him, for though you don't see Him, He, verily, sees you." (Sahih Muslim)

IMAN

The Messenger of Allah (sallAllaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said: "Iman has over 70 branches or over 60 branches. And the highest of al-Iman is the statement "la illaha illallah" (It is the most sublime, the most magnificent and the most superior of all Iman). The lowest of the Iman is to remove some harmful thing from the street. And modesty is a part of al-Iman." [Muslim: Book 1 Hadith 56]


ISTIQOMAH (consistence)


"Allah likes the deeds best which a worshipper can carry out consistently." (Hadith: Bukhari & Muslim)


JANNAH (paradise)


Sahl bin Sad As-Saidi said: “I was present with the Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) in a gathering where he described Jannah, and at the end of his talk he said, ‘There is in it that which no eye has seen, no ear has heard, nor has it ever crossed the heart of man.’” [Hadith - Muslim]

Prophet Muhammad s.a.w said, "In Jannah are things an eye has never seen, an ear has never heard, and a mind can't even imagine." [Bukhari]


JIHAD

"The most excellent Jihad is that for the conquest of self." -- Prophet Muhammad s.a.w (Hadith, Bukhari)

KHAMAR (ALCOHOL)

Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said, "If anyone drinks alcohol, Allah will not accept his salaat (prayer) for 40 days." (Tirmidhi and Nasai)

JUMU'AH (FRIDAY)

Rasulullah (Allah bless him & give him peace) said: "Friday is the best of days. It was on this day that Hadrat Aadam alayhis salaam was created, it was on this day that he was granted entry into jannah, it was on this day that he was removed from jannah (which became the cause for man's existence in this universe, and which is a great blessing), and the day of resurrection will also take place on this day. " (Sahih Muslim)

KINDNESS

Narrated By Jarir bin 'Abdullah: Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him) said, "Allah will not be merciful to those who are not merciful to mankind." [Bukhari Vol 9 Book 93 No. 473]

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:

"Innallaha rafiq; yuhibbur rifqu fil amri kullihi." "Allah is Kind and likes kindness in all things." [Reporter: Hadhrat Ayeshah (r), Source: Bukhari/Muslim (reported in Riyadhus Saleheen,633); Sunan Ibn Majah, 3684]

Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) said: “Be kind, for whenever kindness becomes part of something, it beautifies it. Whenever it is taken from something, it leaves it tarnished.”

(Imam Bukhari’s Book of Muslim Manners)

In (kindness to) every living being there is reward. (Bukhari)

KNOWLEDGE

"A person who goes in search of knowledge, he is in the path of God and he remains so till he returns." 

("Man kharaja fi talabil ilmi, fahuwa fi sabilillahi hatta yafjiyu.")

"Who are the learned? Those who practice what they know." -- Prophet Muhammad s.a.w (Hadith-Bukhari)


"If Allah wants to favour someone, He grants him comprehension (understanding) of this religion." 
[Sahih Bukhari; vol.1, no. 71]

MASJID

The Prophet (pbuh) said: "If anyone of you enters a Masjid, he should pray two Rak'at before sitting." [Sahih Bukhari, Vol.1, Bk.40]

MODERATION

"Religion is very easy and whoever overburdens himself in his religion will not be able to continue in that way. So you should not be extremists, but try to be near to perfection and receive the good tidings that you will be rewarded." [Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 2, Number 38]

NIGHT

Reported by Abu Mas'ud Al-Badri (RA): I heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) saying: "He who recites the two Ayat at the end of Surat Al Baqarah at night, they will suffice him." [Bukhari & Muslim]


PATIENCE


The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "When Allah desires good for someone, He tries him with hardships." [Bukhari] 



Whoever remains patient, Allah will make him patient. Nobody can be given a blessing better and greater than patience. (Bukhari)

A man said to the Prophet (peace be upon him) , "Advise me!" The Prophet said, "Do not become angry and furious." The man asked (the same question) again and again, and the Prophet said in each case, "Do not become angry and furious." [Bukhari, Vol 8, Book 73. Hadith 137]


PARENTS



Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: A person came to Messenger of Allah (PBUH) and asked, "Who among people is most deserving of my fine treatment?'' He (PBUH) said, "Your mother". He again asked, ``Who next?'' "Your mother", the Prophet (PBUH) replied again. He asked, "Who next?'' He (the Prophet (PBUH)) said again, "Your mother.'' He again asked, "Then who?'' Thereupon he (PBUH) said,'' Then your father.'' [Muslim]


In another narration: "O Messenger of Allah! Who is most deserving of my fine treatment?'' He (PBUH) said, "Your mother, then your mother, then your mother, then your father, then your nearest, then nearest". [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]


Abu Huraira r.a reported that a person said: Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him), who amongst the people is most deserving of my good treatment? He said: Your mother, again your mother, again your mother, then your father, then your nearest relatives according to the order (of nearness). [Muslim 6181]


Prophet Muhammad (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “The curse of Allah is on the one who causes difficulty to his mother. The curse of the angels and the curse of mankind are on him. Allah neither accepts his fardh nor his nafl worship as long as he does not repent and obey his mother. He has to gain her pleasure as best he can. Allah’s pleasure depends on the mother’s pleasure and His wrath is concealed in her wrath.” [Ahmad]


Allah's Apostle (pbuh) said, "Shall I inform you of the biggest of the great sins?" They said, "Yes, O Allah's Apostle!" He said, "To join partners in worship with Allah, and to be undutiful to one's parents. " (Bukhari :: Book 8 :: Volume 74 :: Hadith 290)

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said, "When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous decendant (sons or daughters) who prays for him (for the deceased).'' [Muslim]

QURAN

“Verily, the best speech is the book of Allah; and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad ﷺ.” (Hadith: Bukhari)

"The case of one who does not Learn any portion of the Quran is like that of an abandoned house." (Hadith -Tirmidhi)

"The most superior among you (Muslims) are those who learn the Qur'an and teach it."  ("Inna afdalkum man ta'allamal Qur'ana wa allamahu.")

"Study (read) Qur'an (regularly) for it will act as an intercessor and entreat for its readers on the Day of Judgment."

Surahs

Reported by Abu Mas'ud Al-Badri (RA): I heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) saying: "He who recites the two Ayat at the end of Surat Al Baqarah at night, they will suffice him." [Bukhari & Muslim]

Hadith: Allah will grant whoever recites this (verse 129, surah At Taubah, Ch.9) seven times in the morning or evening whatever he desires from this world or the next. (Abu Dawud)


Abu Hurairah (radiAllahu anhu) narrated that the messenger of Allah (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said, ‘Whosoever recites Surah ad-Dhukhan every night, seventy thousand angels will ask forgiveness for him." [at-Tirmidhi]

Umar (radiAllahu anhu) narrated that the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said, ‘A Surah of the Qur’an was revealed to me tonight, indeed it is the dearest Surah to my heart, than anything under the sun’. Then the Prophet recited Surah al Fath verses 1-5. [Sahih al-Bukhari 6:61, no. 532]


REPENTANCE


Rasulullah (SAW) said: “O people! Sincerely repent to Allah. I repent to Allah one hundred times daily” - Sahih Muslim

RIZK (Livelihood / Provision)

Prophet Muhammad s.a.w said: “If you depend on Allah with due reliance, He would certainly give you provision as He gives it the birds who go forth hungry in the morning and return with a full belly at dusk.” [Hadith: Tirmidhi]

SADAQAH (DONATION)


When a man dies no further reward is recorded for his actions, with three exceptions: Sadaqah jariah (donation with which continues to be benefitted), or knowledge from which benefit continues to be reaped, or the prayers of a good son to his dead father. (Muslim)

SHALAT (PRAYER)

The one who secures his Shalat (prayer), It will be Noor (Light), evidence & salvation for him on the day of judgement. [Hadith Ahmad, 6587]

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “The two Rak’ah before the Dawn (Fajr) Prayer are Better than this World and All it contains.” [Sahih Muslim]

"The things that Allah loves most is when people pray shalat on time." (Bukhari)

Allah says: "out of all the ways through which My servant get closer to Me, Salah (prayer) is dearest to Me." (Bukhari)

'Which deed is the dearest to Allah?' He (Prophet SAW) replied: 'To perform the Salaat (prayers) at their proper times.'" (Hadith-Bukhari) 

“Whoever misses the Asr prayers (intentionally) then it is as if he lost his family and property.” (Sahih Bukhari)

Rasulullah (s.a.w ) said: "If people knew the blessing of calling Adhan and standing in the first row (for prayer), they would draw lots to secure these privileges." (Bukhari)

"Whoever misses 'Asr prayer, then it is as if he was robbed of his family and his." (Prophet Muhammad Salaatu Was Salaam, At Tirmidhi, 175, Sahih)

Rasulullah s.a.w said: "Whoever misses the 'Asr prayer (intentionally) then it is as if he lost his family and property." (Bukhari)

SINS

Narrated Anas bin Malik; The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “The biggest of Al-Kabair (the greatest sins) are (1) To join others as partners in worship with Allah, (2) To murder a human being, (3) To be undutiful to one’s parents, (4) And to make a false statement, or said, to give a false witness.” (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Vol. 9, Hadith No. 10)

Narrated Abu Bakar RA: Allah's Apostle said, "Shall I inform you of the biggest of the great sins?" They said, "Yes, O Allah's Apostle!" He said, "To join partners in worship with Allah, and to be undutiful to one's parents." (Sahih Bukhari Book 74 Hadith 290)

SMILING

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, “Smiling in the face of your brother is charity,"  (a hadith authenticated by Al-Albani)

TAHAJJUD (Prayer at night)

Narrated 'Aisha, The Prophet (p.b.u.h) used to offer thirteen Rakat of the night prayer and that included the Witr and two Rakat (Sunna) of the Fajr prayer. [Bukhari]


TAQWA


"Fear Allah WHEREVER you are," said the Prophet (peace be upon him) [Tirmidhi]


TIME


The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Two blessings which many people do not make the most of: good health and spare time.” [Narrated by al-Bukhari, 6412]


The Prophet (pbuh) said:
“Take benefit of five before five:
your youth before your old age,
your health before your sickness,
your wealth before your poverty,
your free-time before your preoccupation,
and your life before your death.” (Hadith: Tirmidhi)

"There are two blessings which many people lose: (They are) health and free time (for doing good)." [Bukhari]

WEALTH

"Every Ummah (people) has a test to undergo, my Ummah will be tried through the wealth." ("Inna likulli ummatin fitnah, wa fitnatu ummatil mal.")

Ibn 'Abbas and Anas bin Malik (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "If a son of Adam were to own a valley full of gold, he would desire to have two. Nothing can fill his mouth except the earth (of the grave). Allah turns with mercy to him who turns to Him in repentance".

ZIKR


"There is a polish for everything that takes away rust; and the polish for the heart is the remembrance of Allah." (Bukhari)

"The best remembrance of God is 'La ilaha illallahu." 

("Afdaluz zikri: La ilaha Illallahu")

Prophet Muhammad s.a.w said: "He who remembers his Lord and he who does not are like the living and dead." (Bukhari, Muslim)

Prophet Muhammad s.a.w said: "The first to be summoned to Paradise on the Day of Resurrection will be those who praise God in prosperity and adversity." (Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 730)

Prophet (pbuh) said, "Do not speak much without mentioning Allah, for too much speech without mentioning Allah hardens the heart" [Tirmidhi]

Abu Huraira (r.a) reported that the Prophet (s.a.w) said, "Renew your faith." "How can we renew our faith?" they asked. The Prophet replied: "Say always: la ilaha illallah." [Ahmad with a fair chain of authorities]

GENERAL

The Prophet s.a.w. said: "Whoever avoids the doubtful matters, safeguards his religion and honour.'' [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

"The entire world is full of resources, and among them the best resource is a righteous wife."

("Ad-dunya matawun; wa khairu mata-ihal mar'atus salihatu.") Reporter: Hadhrat Abdullah ibn Amr (r), Source: Sahih Muslim, Vol. 2, 3465

"Laisal ganiyya an kathratil arad, wa lakinnal ghina ghinan nafsi."

"Richness does not mean having a great amount of property, but richness is self-contentment." Reporter: Hadhrat Abu Hurairah (r), Source: Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol. 8: 453

"Facilitate things to people, do not make it hard for them; give them good tidings and do not make them run away." ("Yassiru wa la tuassiru; wa bashshiru wa la tunaffiru.") Reporter: Hadhrat Anas bin Malik (r), Source: Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol. 1, 69

"A believer is not stung twice (by something) out of one and the same hole."

("La yuldagul mu'minu min juhrin wahidin marratain.") Reporter: Hadhrat Abu Hurairah (r), Source: Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol. 8, 154; Muslim, Vol. 4, 7137

"The people who exaggerate are ruined." ("Halakal mutanattiwun.")

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, "If anyone calls others to follow right guidance, his reward will be equivalent to those who follow him (in righteousness) without their reward being diminished in any respect, and if anyone invites others to follow error, the sin, will be equivalent to that of the people who follow him (in sinfulness) without their sins being diminished in any respect". [Muslim: Book 34, Chapter 06, Hadith  6470].

“It is the excellence of a man’s faith that he gives up meaningless work.” -- Prophet Muhammad s.a.w [Tirmidhi, Ahmad]

Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying:Verily Allah does not look to your faces and your wealth but He looks to your heart and to your deeds. (Book 032, Chapter 8, Number 6221 : Sahih Muslim)

Righteousness is good character, and sin is that which wavers in your heart and which you do not want people to know about. - [Sahih Muslim] 

Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. said : "If anyone of you sees something objectionable, he should change it with his hand, but if he cannot, he should change it with his tongue, and if he cannot he should do it in his heart, that being the weakest form of faith."

Narated By Abu Huraira : The Prophet (p.b.u.h) said, "Seven people will be shaded by Allah under His shade on the day when there will be no shade except His. They are:
1. A just ruler.
2. A young man who has been brought up in the worship of Allah, (i.e. worship Allah (Alone) sincerely from his childhood).
3. A man whose heart is attached to the mosque (who offers the five compulsory congregational prayers in the mosque).
4. Two persons who love each other only for Allah's sake and they meet and part in Allah's cause only.
5. A man who refuses the call of a charming woman of noble birth for an illegal sexual intercourse with her and says: I am afraid of Allah.
6. A person who practices charity so secretly that his left hand does not know what his right hand has given (i.e. nobody knows how much he has given in charity).
7. A person who remembers Allah in seclusion and his eyes get flooded with tears."
(Sahih Bukhari, Volumn 002, Book 024, Hadith Number 504)

Narrated Abu Hurairah: Allah’s Messenger said, “It is from the excellence of (a believer’s) Islam that he should abandon that which is of no benefit to him (in this world and the Hereafter).” (At-Tirmidhi)
