Facts About Al-Quran


1. Al Quran was revealed gradually in within 22 years, 2 months 22 days or 23 years; 13 years in Makkah and 10 years in Madinah. 

2. Al Quran was first revealed on Monday (Sunday night) dated 17 Ramadan, 13 years before Hegira (Hijrah) i.e 6 August 610 AD (Masihi).

3. Nuzul Al Quran has taken place on the first year of Prophethood, at that time Prophet  s.a.w was 40 years old.

4. Al Quran is divided into 30 parts (juzuk), 114 chapters (surah), 6236 verses (ayat).

5. Scholars (ulama) have the consensus that among so many miracles that Allah granted to Prophet Muhammad s.a.w, the biggest miracle is Al Quran.

6. Berapa kali kalimat بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم diulangi dalam Al Quran?


Al Quran memiliki 114 surah. Setiap surah diawali dengan kalimat basmallah kecuali surah At Taubah (surah ke-9). Jadi, apakah terdapat 113 kalimat basmallah di dalam Al Quran? Jawapannya tidak. Kalimat basmallah di dalam Al Quran diulangi sebanyak 114 kali. satu kalimatnya lagi di mana? Satu kalimat basmallah yang lainnya terdapat dalam surah An Naml [27:30].


7. The longest chapter (surah) in the Quran is surah Al Baqarah (286 verses), and the shortest surah is surah Al Kautsar (3 verses).

8. Bulan Ramadhan adalah bulan terbaik yang disebutkan dalam Al Quran kerana di dalamnya terdapat 1 malam di mana malam itu lebih mulia dari 1000 bulan (malam  Lailatul Qadar).


9. The best drink mentioned in the Quran is milk, and the best food is honey.

10. The commandment to say shalawat (blessings) to Rasulullah saw is stated in Surah al-Ahzab verse 56.

11. The best Zikr (rembrance of Allah) is reciting Al Quran.

12. Surah that is known as "the heart" of Al Quran is Surah Yasin.

13. surah Yaasin verse 36 explains that Allah created everything in pair. 

14. Nabi Musa a.s is the most mentioned name of Prophet in the Quran i.e 136 times. 

15. Surah Al Mujadilah, chapter 58 which contains 22 verses (ayat), is the only surah in the Quran that have have the name of Allah in every verse.

16. The last verse sent down to the Prophet SAW was the saying of Allah which means:
“…This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favour upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion...” [Quran: 5:3]
